Captain's Battle Log - Stardate 462.1
Hostile enemies forces have been destroyed. What was presumed to be their homeworld was simply a lightly defended space outpost with unusual amounts of activity, per long range scans. Possibly a trading station❓They are out there... They now know of our existence. Scheming and plotting our end. An exploratory team is being gathered to investigate what is left of the space outpost, hopefully something is.
Not much is known, but from the battle's space salvage & debris scans...they are a highly advanced species. Interesting, the technology.... it is similar to our own, but, made for them❔❓
For now, they will hold the name 'The Greys' until we can determine their true name. The enemies were nearly able to turn the tide, with an unknown technology that rendered half our fleet inoperable. Fortunately, the forces were light, had it been a fleet... this log would not exist. The weapon has still not been found. What could produce such energy and ability, yet not be visible❔❓
Most energy weapons have to charge and require immense amounts of power, a power source, and so forth. None of this was present.
This technology.... This secret weapon..
it put our forces into a temporal void-like stasis, where ships mid battle seemed frozen in time after being exposed to a short flash of light. Survivors never reported seeing the weapon, only a flash of light.. as humans, we have never witnessed such power. To pause all objects within a specific radius, where they were destroyed at a whim. Unbelievable. Systems identified a unique signature during this event. The signal... It's being studied as I write this log.

To see how we would react to such a powerful weapon. To see... If they could wipe us out in one shot..... ❓❔
Further research is ongoing to determine a counter measure for the weapon, itself. Destroying what we can't see....proves difficult.

We have have only found clues of their existence..so far. For example, hidden signals and probes that observe and peek at our system near its boundaries. When we attempt to pursue, they vanish. Stealth Technology❓
